How To Write A Kick-Ass College Admission Essay: A 5-Part Series

Yep. ​Writing a college admission essay is hard A.!&*. And, well, you've got the rest of your life riding on your college selection.
No pressure, right?

Today's pro tip: 

Express Yourself.
I'm not talking about your standard self-expression via emojis, full-on caps, or Klingon. We'll need to sweep all that crazy under the rug for a moment. I'm talking about taking a few deep breaths, reading over your essay guidelines, and just start writing down the first few thoughts that pop into your head. Keep it simple and don't worry about grammar, punctuation or making it sound perfect.

Your next step? Sleep. Nerd note: the neurons in your brain actually make connections while you're snoozing, which helps complex tasks (i.e. essay writing) click in the morning. Take a little time the next morning to review your initial ideas, and expand on them (maybe just a sentence or two).
